Configure how WordPress sends email — PHP mail, custom SMTP, or common provider presets — then verify with a test message.

Mailer modes (Free)
| Mode | When to use |

SMTP connection fields
- Host, Port, Encryption (None / SSL / TLS)
- Authentication toggle, Username, Password
- Password blank on save means keep the existing password — passwords are never printed back in HTML
From settings
- From Email / From Name
- Force From Email & Name — overrides other plugins/themes that change the From header
How to verify
Choose a mailer and fill credentials
Use a provider preset when possible.
Set From Email to a domain you control
Improves deliverability.
Save Changes
Then click Send Test Email to an inbox you can check.
Check spam / provider logs
If delivery fails, verify host/port/app passwords and that the host allows SMTP.
