Visitor Tracking
Cookie-free, server-side pageview logging with searchable history and geo details — nothing is stored in the visitor’s browser.
Where to find it
Log UI: SiteNivo → Visitor Tracking
Master switch: SiteNivo → Settings → General → Visitor Tracking (must be On or nothing is logged).
Privacy model
- No tracking cookies and no browser consent prompt for this feature
- Logging happens on the server when public pages are viewed
- Timestamps stored in UTC, displayed in your WordPress timezone
What Free records
- That a visit happened (time)
- Page URL / path on your site
- IP, visitor token, user agent
- Geo / ISP details when available (via optional ip-api.com lookup)
Pro: traffic source (referrer)
Knowing which external URL sent the visitor (HTTP referrer — e.g. Google, Facebook, another site) is reserved for SiteNivo Pro.
- Free — you see the visit and which page on your site was hit
- Pro (Coming Soon) — also stores and shows the third-party referrer URL when the browser sends one
Note
Many browsers / privacy modes omit or strip referrers. Even on Pro, some visits will have an empty referrer — that is normal.
How to use
Enable tracking
Settings → General → Visitor Tracking → On → Save Changes.
Browse the log
Open Visitor Tracking: search, paginate, Refresh, or Clear log.
Open a row
Detail panel includes city, region, country, postal code, timezone, ISP, IP, visitor token, user agent, and page URL. Referrer is Pro.
Extra geo when available
Organization, AS, coordinates, mobile / proxy / hosting flags (via optional ip-api.com lookup). Private/local IPs skip geo.
Cleaner logs
Under Security, enable Ignore scanner / probe paths so known bot probes do not clutter Visitor Tracking.
