Troubleshooting

Quick checks for common SiteNivo Free issues — mail, redirects, tracking, security conflicts, and performance toggles.

SMTP / email not sending

  • Confirm mailer is not left on Default if your host blocks PHP mail()
  • Use Send Test Email from SiteNivo → SMTP
  • Check host/port/encryption; for Gmail use an App Password
  • Empty password on save means “keep existing”
  • Inspect provider logs / spam folders

Redirects vs Permalink Manager

  • Permalink Manager — per-entry custom URI + 301 from the native permalink
  • Redirections — explicit source → destination rules + 404 log
  • After bulk URI changes, flush permalinks; after domain moves pair with URL Replace

Visitor Tracking log is empty

  • Enable the master toggle under Settings → General
  • Visit a public front-end URL while logged out
  • Security probe-path ignore hides scanner noise intentionally

Security + Jetpack / apps

  • Disabling XML-RPC breaks Jetpack and some mobile apps
  • Login lockout: wait for the window or clear from another IP / host tools

Performance toggle broke the theme

  • Turn Off Remove jQuery Migrate first
  • Turn Off Disable Block Editor CSS if block content lost styles
  • Re-enable oEmbed if embeds stopped

URL Replace went wrong

  • Free has no replace-history undo — restore from backup
  • Avoid overly broad partial strings
